Well, I quit social media a few weeks ago in order to focus my mind and soften my heart, which was feeling remarkably hard about a number of things.
As luck would have it, apparently some vile force has infected this site. Wix sent me an email informing me they will permanently destroy my site within 24 hours if... they don't fix it. The words "malicious code injections" and "significant security risk" and "compliance" were in there somewhere, increasing my level of alarm. I sent a note back saying, yes, by all means, please fix it. I sent several such notes, actually. And in response I finally got a message saying they would be in touch it but it would probably take "longer than 24 hours." Insert bleak laugh here.
Makes me glad I spent a small fortune getting this site up and running.
Anyway, if you visit here again and find a 404 message, sorry. As of right now, I cannot recommend Wix as a website host or design platform. Unless you're in the mood for a truly Kafka-esque experience.
In the meantime, I finally put up a second post on my substack. It's long, so that's something. And I've been editing my new projects and feeling quite pleased with them.
#%$# internet. If I don't consider those of you who have been nice enough to use the internet to write to me to say nice things about my books, it's feeling less worthwhile all the time. Though I do enjoy a spot of online banking. That's handy. Oh, and online shopping's fun too. Other than those things, the internet is a damnable headache.
